What is Personal Training...?
Personal training to most clients is an amazing, challenging, rewarding, and life changing experience. But for some, it can pose an extremely daunting, frightening, and embarrassing prospect.
Imagine, exercising for the first time, never been to a gym before, or trained outside... with all those prying eyes... The thought of an overpowering trainer dictating strange and hard exercises. Could be a real big turn off?
Well, it is part of our job to break down those barriers, pull up our socks, and prove that personal training is for them!
Yes, pt can be a very personal experience. Both client and trainer need to feel comfortable with one another, strike up a rapport and understanding from the beginning. A partnership working together to achieve maximal results, Vital, as you may have to contend with one another for a very long time!
As fitness professionals, we have to consider and appreciate all of these factors our clients may face. We are the mentor, motivator, teacher, friend, which has to be both serious and empathetic at differing times. Personal training is 'fitness made fun', a life changing experience. It may seem daunting to some clients at first, but gradually session by session, as confidence and trust develops between client and trainer. The benefits will soon wash away all those initial fears and apprehensions.
The weight loss, the flatter stomach, the ability to jog for 20 mins, fitting in to those 2 size smaller jeans once again! Not to mention a new found energy and confidence to manage everyday life.
